A man in military-style gear enters a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, and starts firing from a rifle.

A mass shooting took place Saturday afternoon in Buffalo, the second largest city in New York State.

A gunman with a rifle entered a local supermarket and opened fire on shoppers. The man, dressed in military-style gear, was apparently acting alone, local media reported, citing law enforcement agencies.

“It’s like walking into a horror movie, but everything is real,” Buffalo News quoted a police officer at the scene as saying.

A total of 13 people were shot and 10 were killed on the spot, the Buffalo Police Commissioner said. The gunman has been arrested.

The attacker was reported to have live-streamed the shooting spree on the Twitch streaming platform. Several graphic screenshots allegedly taken from the current, showing a body lying on the floor and a woman being shot in the head, are being circulated online.
