According to a new survey, the British are expected to continue their struggle against the cost of living due to skyrocketing inflation and the UK’s sanctions on Russia. Many have adjusted their budgets and some have even avoided meals, the poll revealed.
Sky News released the results on Tuesday, citing 2,061 Ipsos UK polls, aged 16-75, conducted on May 12-13.
When asked how they reacted to the rising cost of living across the UK, 52% said they had returned to socialization. However, only 29% said they had canceled their TV or streaming service. More than half of respondents said they expect both entertainment costs to rise in the next six months.

Nearly half of those surveyed said they expect mortgage payments or rent increases. While 87% said they expect utility bills to continue rising in the next six months, half of respondents said they expect fuel and food prices to rise. “A lot.”

In contrast, 65% said they turned off their heat, 44% said they were driving less, and 44% said they switched to a cheaper supermarket for their groceries.
As food prices rise across the UK, 27% – more than one in four – respondents admit to avoiding food, while another 14% say they consider doing so.
