
Elon Musk tweeted about how fertility rates are declining in the United States.
Tesla chief Elon Musk is always in the news. In his recent tweet, the billionaire noted how the fertility rate in the United States has been below the replacement level of 2.1 for the past 50 years.

Mr. Musk shared a graph of birth rate levels, revealing that the overall fertility rate in the United States has already reached close to 1.5. Fertility rate estimates how many children a woman will have.

But his next tweet has caused a stir online. “Contrary to many people’s beliefs, the richer a person is, the less children he has. I am a rare exception. Most people I know have zero or one child, “Musk tweeted.
The post has received more than 1.2 lakh likes on Twitter since it was shared on Tuesday.
In response to Musk’s tweet, one person said, “The main reason is that people can’t afford to have children,” but Musk replied, “So why is it that the richer a person is, the less children he has?”

The CEO of SpaceX had earlier raised the issue of population decline by tweeting, “If there weren’t enough people on Earth, there would be enough people on Mars.”
Mr Musk has seven children, Xavier and Griffin twins and Kai, Saxon and Domina Triple. His last birth was X Æ A-Xii.
