Former US President Donald Trump was paranoid about hitting him in the face with a pie during his presidency. Hitting with pies, often referred to as “pied”, is used by protesters against government officials as a protest tactic.
According to TheDaily Beast, Mr. Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, has spoken out against the former president’s paranoia about being hit with a pie. May 9 in a statementMr. Cohen reveals that Mr. Trump has been obsessed with the idea ever since Microsoft founder Bill Gates was hit in the face with a cream pie.
“Some of the things that have upset Mr. Trump so much … we’ve all been instructed that if anyone ever throws anything at him, we’ll all be fired if that person doesn’t come to the hospital,” he said.
He went on to add, “He would never turn around and say, ‘If someone throws a shell or a bottle …’ it’s always a pie.” He always brought that pie thing. “
Mr. Cohen was Mr. Trump’s personal attorney but their relationship deteriorated when Mr. Cohen introduced his former boss as part of negotiations to get him less punished if he was tried for campaign finances in the United States.
Mr Cohen was serving time for tax evasion, false statements and campaign money laundering – the latest in a string of payments to silence women accused of having an affair with Trump ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
He was released under house arrest in May 2020 for the risk of catching COVID-19 in prison, but was briefly re-arrested in July of that year. A federal judge then ruled that Mr. Cohen had retaliated for his book publishing plan and ordered his release.
Mr. Cohen, who once said he would “take a bullet” for Mr. Trump, later collaborated with the Democratic-led congressional inquiry. Mr Trump has called Mr Cohen a “rat” who, in his book, called the former US president a “racist”, a “con man” and a “fraudster”.
