British model Kate Moss on Wednesday dismissed reports that her ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp once threw her on a flight of stairs, saying it never happened.
“He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down the stairs,” said Moss, who was testifying in the defamation suit against Depp’s ex-wife, Amber Hard.
Depp, 58, sued Hard for an op-ed written for the Washington Post in December 2018, in which he described himself as a “public figure representing domestic violence.”
Hard, 36, did not name the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star in the op-ed, but sued him for being a domestic abuser and seeking $ 50 million in damages.
Hard, who was born in Texas, demanded 100 100 million and claimed that he had suffered “a lot of physical violence and abuse” at his hands.
Hard, in his testimony earlier this month, cited a reported incident where Depp allegedly pushed his ex-girlfriend Moss on a flight of stairs.
This reference gives Depp’s lawyers an opportunity to call Moss as a witness to resolve the complaint, and he testified via video link from Gloucestershire, England.
Moss, 48, said he had a romantic relationship with Depp from 1994 to 1998.
He was asked about an incident the couple took to a resort in Jamaica during a vacation.
“We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I could,” Moss said. “And there was a rainstorm and as soon as I got out of the house I fell down the stairs and my back hurt.
“And I screamed because I don’t know what happened to me and I was in pain. He ran to help me and took me to my room and treated me.”
Hard’s lawyers refused to question Moss.
