North Korea Kovid: Kim Jong Un said that “immaturity” has increased the complexity of preventing Kovid-19.
Seoul:
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has condemned his country’s response to the first officially confirmed COVID-19 outbreak as “immature”, accusing government officials of inadequacy and inaction because of the country’s fever, state media reported Wednesday.
North Korea reported 232,880 more people with symptoms of fever and six more died after being admitted to the country for the first time last week. It was not immediately clear how many people tested positive for COVID-19.
Presiding over a Politburo meeting of the ruling Workers’ Party on Tuesday, Kim said “the immaturity of state power in dealing with the crisis” has increased the “complexity and difficulty” of fighting the epidemic while “time is life”. KCNA.
Since the first recognition of the COVID-19 outbreak, there have been 1.72 million patients with fever in the North, of whom 62 died by Tuesday evening.
Amid concerns over the lack of vaccines in the isolated country and inadequate medical infrastructure, KCNA said health officials had developed a COVID-19 treatment guideline aimed at preventing drug overdoses and other abuse that had led to many deaths reported.
The guidelines cover individual treatments for a variety of patients, but state media did not specify which drugs were involved in the treatment plan.
