Ramzan Kadyrov has been regularly accused of human rights abuses in Chechnya
In the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, a video of Ramzan Kadyrov, a Chechen leader and ally of Vladimir Putin, has gone viral on social media, threatening him with Poland. In a video posted on Twitter, Kadyrov is seen saying that “the Ukraine issue is closed” and that Poland is right after that.
In the subtitles shown below the video, he is seen saying, “After Ukraine, if we are instructed, within six seconds we will show you what we are capable of.”

He further added that the country’s weapons should be withdrawn.
Poland is a European country that has supplied Ukraine with a number of weapons to defend itself against Russian aggression.
In the video, Ramzan Kadyrov mentions an incident earlier this month when Russia’s ambassador to Poland was attacked in red on Victory Day, commemorating the Soviet Union’s victory in World War II. Ambassador Sergei Andrev was forced to leave the area with his delegation. In the video, Kadyrov is heard talking about the incident and Poland being told to “issue an official apology for what you did to our ambassador.”
Ramzan Kadyrov, the son of a Chechen independence leader who defected to join the Russians, is regularly accused of human rights abuses in the Muslim-majority Chechen Republic.
Kadyrov welcomed Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and immediately sent troops there. He said he had about a thousand people there in mid-March. There is no way to verify the statistics.
