Queen Elizabeth II made an amazing appearance on a new railroad named in her honor on Tuesday, after health problems prevented her from attending recent events.
The 96-year-old King smiled as he visited London’s Paddington Station to see the new Elizabeth Line, a major new railway set to speed up transport links in and out of the city.
Wearing a yellow wool coat and a hat trimmed with flowers, he took a lift to the platform, holding a walking stick, joined his son, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, who announced to attend the ceremony without him.

The emperor has rarely attended events outside his royal residence recently and missed the official opening of parliament on May 10 due to ongoing mobility problems.
It raises concerns about whether he will be able to attend major events for his Platinum Jubilee next month to mark his 70th anniversary on the throne.
Last week, however, he attended two events near his Windsor Castle home, including a horse-riding event hosted by Hollywood actors Tom Cruise and Helen Mirren as part of the jubilee celebrations.
The Elizabeth Line is set to open partially to the public on May 24 It was originally due to open in 2018, but was damaged due to construction and complex signaling system problems.
It opens on June 2-5 before a long weekend of platinum jubilee celebrations.
Once completed, the line will run from Reading to Shenfield, about 35 miles (56 kilometers) west of London, about 21 miles east, with the option to stop at Heathrow Airport.
The line was due to be completed in 2018 and its budget increased to 18.9 billion pounds (22.4 billion euros, $ 24 billion).
Transport for London says the new rail line, with its purple signboard, will “transform travel across London and the South East”.
