Jerry Huang’s aquatic pets rarely feel like two lost souls are swimming in a fish bowl because they can go for a regular walk.
In the city of Taichung, Taiwan, Huang is seen pushing his latest discovery: a golden fish bowl on wheels.
“Before, people used to walk their dogs and cats, now they take their parrots, snakes, lizards too,” Huang, 31, told AFP.
“Do underwater animals have the opportunity to explore land above water?” He asked himself.
Huang, an avid aerial drone photographer who creates livelihood content for his YouTube channel, soon came up with a solution.
Tankering with the design after spending a few weeks in his workshop, the Goldfish stroller was actually assembled in just a few days, assembled from the spare parts lying around.
The space-age-like contraption (estimated cost $ 300-400) consists of a large, water-filled acrylic cylinder for the fish to live in, driven in a specially built trolley combined with a battery-powered filtration and oxygen system.
“I’ve done a lot of research before I started building these fish tanks. It’s not a matter of the moment. You have to understand the fish,” he said.
He decided that goldfish, which are tough and not particularly afraid of humans, were the best test subject.
Huang is fairly confident that he enjoys his goldfish adventures.
“We all have the urge to explore other, uninhabitable outer worlds, so we send spacecraft into the universe,” he was shocked. “If I were a goldfish, I would certainly be thrilled if someone discovered something for me to explore another world.”
