Kyrgyzstan is called a traditional dance Kara Jorgo Which is also the national dance of the country. The funny thing about this dance is that it is used to treat people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, more commonly known as COPD. COPD is a common, preventable and treatable lung disease.
Dancing involves a variety of body movements that help patients with their COPD. According to GuardianInitially, most patients complain of shortness of breath. Speaking to news outlet Idea Temirali Kiji, a 24-year-old nurse said, “Almost all patients, before doing so, complain of shortness of breath, coughing and say they do not have the physical fitness … but, even on the second or third day, there is improvement. Notably. Physically, they can do more. “
He added: “I’ve seen really low mood patients and in the end, they smile and are very grateful.”
Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Health has officially accepted the treatment, and it is already being carried out in three hospitals. Sessions run for six weeks, with two hours of sessions per week.
Professor Talent Suronbayev, director of the National Center of Cardiology and Internal Medicine, speaks Guardian “When we give patients COPD drugs and medications, it’s not an actual medical service,” he said. “Pulmonary rehabilitation is an important part of treatment. That’s why we plan to expand and why we will share our experience with neighboring countries – Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.”
COPD often develops in one’s middle life, with symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, and fatigue. This may be due to smoking or exposure to polluted air. Once detected early it can be treated and managed.
