The dog was teased with a fire hydrant along with a backpack filled with his belongings.
Earlier this month, the Internet woke up to a heartbreaking image of a pet dog tied to a fire hydrant. Farbel was attached to a fire hydrant in Wisconsin with a backpack filled with his belongings and a note from its previous owner. The image that began to spread on social media was later shared on Facebook by the Wisconsin Human Society (WHS) on May 5 with a note. In it, the shelter says the owner’s note made it clear that they love them very much. Fighting for care due to pets and serious health problems, they forced him to leave. Well, the good news is that the dog, Baby Girl, has found a new family in less than a fortnight.
Sharing an update about Poodle on Instagram on Monday, a page called “We Rate Dogs” says, “This is Baby Girl. She was tied to a fire hydrant next to a backpack full of her favorite things. I understand if this photo makes you angry, but I strongly encourage you to read what the Wisconsin Human Society wrote after finding him. Baby Girl’s previous caregivers do what they can in extremely difficult situations. We often show dogs when needed, and if we are not clear about negligence, please assume that everyone involved is doing their best. “
Breaking the good news, the post added, “We are thrilled to say that Baby Girl was adopted last Thursday. We join the wonderful people of the Wisconsin Human Society in wishing her the best and the peace of her former caretaker with this decision. “
According to People, Baby Girl was discovered by animal lovers on the corner of East Walnut Street and South Clay Street in Green Bay. Shortly after the discovery, the adorable poodle was taken to the WHS’s Green Bay campus. Here he received proper veterinary services. The baby girl was also forced to go through the “compulsory stray hold” of the shelter before being prepared for adoption.
After the dog’s image went viral, WHS said in a Facebook post, “Since her story has attracted attention locally and beyond, we wanted to take a moment to address the previous owner of Baby Girl directly:
First and foremost, we’re very sorry that you had to part with your best friend. It is clear how much you loved him and we see that you did your best to fight your own medical complications and life’s challenges. We see your love in the bag you carefully packed with all her favorite things. ”
The shelter ended the statement by saying, “We wish you all the best and hope that if you see this you can take some rest knowing that your baby girl has a bright future ahead of her.”
